Summary: How to get screwed with your pants on.
Review: I think there is almost no meaningful sentence of this I can excerpt that will allow the review to keep a PG rating. Quite possibly there are moments with the potential to offend even people who've lapped up the grotesque gleeful technicolor offensiveness of the comics. It's glorious. (You may have to turn away from its gloriousness occasionally to gag or shudder.)
People who should know better want Spider Jerusalem to write an column on the economy. This fic takes the form of Spider's responding article, namely ~3000 words of vitriol spewed from the pen of the most obnoxious journalist on the face of the Earth.
The author does an awesome job of the Spider Jerusalem voice and in capturing the bizarre, vile world of the comics, with just enough thread of relevance amid the hyperactive excess to translate back to satire on the real world.

Summary: AU, loosely based on movie Debs. Arthur is the top student at spy school and Merlin is a notorious evil genius. However rivalry isn't the only thing these two boys are feeling, can Arthur resist Merlin or will he forsake his friends and his country?
Review:
This fic will always stick in my memory as being one of the funniest. It's one of my favourite tropes when a character comes in like a hurricane, messing up a persons perfect life plan and showing them what they should really be living for. Adding to that the feeling of family and loyalty this fic has with some of the most memorable gags that make you laugh for hours this is certainly one of my most favourite Merlin fics.
Merlin is a quite sexy hacker in this. While still being his sweet self, he has the power and smarts to play with the cute blonde spy that thinks he can arrest him. Arthur is extremely frustrated with being played with but is even more annoyed with being attracted to the bad guy as well. The tention eventually has to snap.

"We're going to be cutting our show a little short today, because, as you may have heard, there's an apocalypse happening! But we didn't let the election of Barack Obama stop us, and we're not going to let the zombie hordes stop us either."
Review:
And now for something completely different. Written for Yuletide 2009, this is RPF of the weekly NPR news quiz show, told in transcript format. Nestra perfectly captured the voices of the regular guests on the show, as they keep broadcasting during the zombie apocalypse and continue with their political satire.
Further, the podfic is amazing, especially if you've ever heard the show. They even have the Wait, Wait opening music, and each person is read by a different podficcer.
As long as transcript format and fic about real people aren't deal-breakers for you, this is a fun little fic with mentions of the Daily Show and politicians (and how they all would react to the zombie apocalypse) and a perfect imitation of the source material.

Title: A Consummation Devoutly to Be Wished by Mirabella
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Categories: humor, veela!fic, bonding, parody, crack
Length: Medium (~6,700 words)
Warnings: n/a

Review:
Draco is a veela and not at all happy about it. That is, until he catches sight of Harry and falls immediately in lust. Fortunately he has Crabbe and Goyle to (literally) smack some sense into him. Unfortunately, the smacking doesn't seem to be very effective. And, damn it, Zabini will *not* get his ass out of Draco's bed!
If you're looking for an earnest, angst-filled bonding fic, you are definitely in the wrong place. I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt as Draco got the bad news (and promptly made his mother promise to keep ugly hats away from his impending funeral, because he absolutely was *not* going to mate with anyone), spotted Harry (and *somehow* ended up in Harry's lap, with his tongue down Harry's throat), and spends most of the rest of the fic trying to stay as far away from Harry as possible, while at the same time desperately doing whatever he can to get Harry off.
Funny, fast-paced, and featuring the most drama-queenish (and yet surprisingly in character) Draco I've ever seen, this is a great fic for anyone who needs a laugh or ten.

Review: A museum asks the Nerima Wrecking Crew to come guard its collection - they've been informed that Three Sexy Ninjas are coming to steal priceless artifacts! Ranma knows he just shouldn't have even gotten out of bed that day... because it's shaping up to be yet another Wacky Adventure.
For anyone who missed this old-school anime/manga when the fandom was popular on the 'net (which was the '90s and early Aughts), Ranma 1/2 is about a young aquatranssexual martial artist and his horde of a) fiancees, b) family and c) rivals/enemies. The genderswitch is caused by a cursed spring, and other characters have curses corresponding to the spring they fell into (Drowned Cat, for example). "Hijinks Ensue" is pretty much the underlying theme of the series. So, a story that parodies the over-the-top mania whilst simultaneously delivering on jokes and action? In this fandom, such stories are far and few between, and those I find get bookmarked immediately.
D. B. Sommer keeps the atmosphere of the canon intact, but he's able to cross a few lines with characterization without losing our willful suspension of disbelief. For example, characters' thoughts often break the fourth wall in this fic, such as when Konatsu appreciates his inclusion in the group as a usually underutilized side character. These little touches could've felt out of place, but this author does it right, and so they only add to the quality of the parody.

Review:
How would the Lord of the Rings gone if Frodo was replaced in his quest by his adopted cousin, Clark? The answer is in the story's subtitle: aka How to Make a Really Long Story Short.
Hee! This is just plain fun all around. You've got Clark, who keeps trying to wrap up this whole quest post-haste, while Gandalf is too busy ordering him around to pay attention. Meanwhile, the poor Black Riders are having a *very* bad week, Aragorn is terribly frustrated by the way the hobbits keep rescuing themselves, and Lex Luthor pops up every once in a while to sex the place up (I gave this fic the PG-13 rating mainly for Lex's endless innuendo). A good story if you're looking for a laugh.
