Summary:
Kurt Hummel is a young werewolf just trying to survive high school. As the son of the pack leader and a gifted male capable of bearing children, he is coveted by the other werewolf boys. However, it is the human bully, Puck, who is there in his time of need. Because it is taboo for a wolf to mate with a human, Kurt and Puck battle their attraction to one another until something neither of them expected draws them together again. [original summary]
Review:
This is a werewolf AU, where Kurt is a special snowflake! Kidding, or not so much. This story is a favorite of mine, mostly because we see a Kurt that is powerful and confident, and Puck that isn’t really sure what he is doing. So expect a refreshing take on Puck’s and Kurt’s relationship with themselves and each other.
Another characterization that is gold it’s Burt, he is even more badass in this fic and slightly harder than in the show, which is obviously a result of the plot and the background story of Burt as a leader of a pack. I really like that while Burt loves Kurt and gives him some leeway, he is always worried about the pack as a whole.
Besides the evolution of Puck’s and Kurt’s relationship, and the very hot smut, there is also an element of suspense, introducing Puck’s own constitution and family; this elements create tension into the story and soften the romance side of it. Be also prepared to see male pregnancy and discussion on a male carrier, not always savory, but there isn’t a birth, so it might be ok for people that don’t dig the trope.

Review:
This wasn't the story I was going to review. I had another story in mind when I started paging through AO3 looking for the links. As usual I browsed as I went, because that's half the fun, and in the process I came across this one. Snorting hot tea is not recommended.
Yes, it's yet another Little Red Riding Hood parody, and Lord knows there are enough of those in the fandoms I read. This one however is written with such verve and sweeping silliness that I had to rec it. Honestly, it practically recommends itself; the writing is good and solid, consistently mildly absurdist in its humour, and the whole thing makes sense on its own level.
If this is what I get when I go "walking in the woods" of AO3, I really must get out there more!

Summary: Stiles was enjoying his senior year until his crazy English teacher decided he made the best candidate to gestate Derek's kid. Now Stiles is a seventeen-year-old pregnant dude and he and Derek have to figure their shit out, because in nine months they are going to be tied together for the rest of their lives.
Review: I've been meaning to rec this story for a good while, but wanted to put some distance between it and my rec for Tiny Houses, lest I earn a reputation as that reccer who's really into mpreg. "The Second Coming (of Werewolf Jesus) is another dark-magic-gets-Stiles-pregnant story, but it's about as different from "Tiny Houses" as Teen Wolf season one is from Ginger Snaps. Though the story starts with Stiles getting forcibly impregnated (and unable to abort the fetus because of magic), that's where the similarities end.
As you might expect from the title, "The Second Coming (of Werewolf Jesus)" has a lot more humor than angst. After his initial panic attack upon learning that he's a pregnant 17-year-old virgin, Stiles tries to take the situation in stride, while Derek (through a combination of misplaced guilt, werewolf instincts, and a genuine desire to have a family again) tries his best to step into a supportive co-parent role. This is very much a story about two people trying to make the best of a shitty situation. Knowing that their child is going to bind them together forever, the two of them go through a lot of trial and error as they try to figure out where they fit in each other's lives. Their relationship feels more real to me because of their occasional stumbling blocks. Sheriff Stilinski was excellent in this story as well. I loved the dynamics between the characters as the sheriff and Stiles expanded their family to include Derek (and the baby). And maybe it's just my biological clock ticking, but the actual arrival of Baby Jesus made me melt. So adorable! Equal parts heartwarming and hilarious, "The Second Coming (of Werewolf Jesus)" is one of my go-to stories whenever I want something lighthearted and fun to read.

Summary:There's a lot of different ways this summary could go, like:
Patrick Kane gets more than a gold medal in Sochi.
Or, the classic: It's too late to pull out now.
Or: Patrick Kane continues to thrive in high pressure situations.
Or: Patrick Kane gets knocked up, goes to White Castle, and finds love, not necessarily in that order.
But, ultimately, all that really matters is this: Patrick Kane is keeping his baby.
Review: This is a sweet and slow building fic that takes advantage of a lot of the tropes wrapped up in accidental pregnancy and one night stands.
Despite this, the author doesn't make any assumptions about how the story has to follow the tropes. Svmadelyn allows Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews to narrate the story in what feels like an organic manner.
None of the little issues or problems related to pregnancy are glossed over to make everything seem glowing and happy. Neither of the main characters are without their weaknesses or issues. It feels natural that they get together, because of the way that Svmadelyn builds the story up with their families and friends getting their own opinion and screen time.
Why you might not want to read this story: If you aren't familiar with the Hockey fandom and don't feel comfortable with not knowing the base characters well this might not be the story for you. Also if you don't feel comfortable with Mpreg or partners keeping secrets from each other, this might hit a few too many of your soft spots.

Author's Summary:
There are three things you should know about Sam right now: he's still crazy, he's one of the only survivors in a Leviathan-led zombie apocalypse, and, oh yeah, he's pregnant with an incest parasite-baby-thing. And no, this isn't a guess-which-part-is-a-lie game. When you spend your days being chased by the brain-hungry undead and your nights fighting with your stubborn brother about your new-found condition, you're forced to learn things about yourself. And maybe, with a pinch of luck, you might be led to a happy ending. But considering Sam's a Winchester, that road seems like a fat chance.
Review:
In a post-apocalyptic dystopia, the human race has been ravaged by Leviathans and zombies. In this verse only 'fertiles' are able to have children, and they can be of either sex. This is a Wincest fic, but not one where Sam and Dean are in true love; theirs is a purely sexual relationship, and when Sam discovers he is not only able to become pregnant, but also actually pregnant - with Dean's child - there's definitely no rejoicing. This is a tense, angsty, and at times darkly funny look at what society is like post-apocalypse. The author doesn't shy away from Sam's dark thoughts about his pregnancy, or the dangers faced by those who are able to reproduce when the human race is suffering from a population shortage.
Sam and Dean's relationship isn't the best in this fic, and as a fan of much more loving Sam/Dean stories it was sad to see them so emotionally distant. They really are just brothers having sex rather than in love with each other, and though I would normally prefer a more romantic relationship, this type of Wincest makes for an interesting and perhaps more realistic change. My only criticism would be the somewhat deus ex machina nature of the ending.
There is a sequel to this fic with a different tone, being focused instead on Sam and Dean's domestic lives. I don't think it lives up to its predecessor.

Summary: "So this is what Stiles does. He lies in Scott’s bed and waits for Melissa to say she’s found someone to get it out of him, to cure him of the wrongness and the bad, and he dreams.
God, he dreams.
He dreams of fire and swollen bellies and that scene in Alien, of giving birth to jackals through his urethra, the whole horrific nine yards. His head is a terrible place to be, he can’t imagine his stomach is much better, why anyone would want to put a thing inside of it."
Review: Mind the tags because this story deals with some heavy topics. It starts off with a non-consensual (for both of them) sex scene between Derek and Stiles, and only gets darker as Stiles realizes that he's pregnant with a fetus he doesn't want and can't get rid of. Even if mpreg typically isn't your thing, I would encourage you to take a chance on this one. The body horror elements highlight how strange and wrong the pregnancy is for Stiles, and give the story a sense of realism, if realism can involve werewolves and dark magic. This story feels very emotionally honest to me. Between his depression and horror during pregnancy, his feelings of inadequacy, loneliness, and guilt as a parent, and his complicated relationships with Derek and the other pack members, Stiles goes through an intense emotional journey in this story, and we're right there with him. Yet despite all of those heavy emotions, I never think of this as a story of pain so much as a story of healing. Reading it feels a little bit like tearing yourself open and stitching yourself back together again. There is a hard-won happy ending after all of the angst, and it doesn't feel tacked on or out of place, but as necessary and inevitable as spring following winter. By the time I reached the end, I didn't want the story to be over. It gave me that feeling I used to get reading my favorite novels as a child, like I had fought with these characters, had bled with them, and healed with them, and I could happily have kept reading about them forever. For that reason, it's one of those stories I've returned to again and again.
I also highly recommend the podfic by Jinxy. It's 11 hours long, and I think I've listened to it three times now. She brings an incredible depth of emotion to the performance, and I loved her use of music and sound effects.

12 years later. A Clark/Lex story.
Review:
A mind-bendingly bizarre experience, this vid starts out as a sappy romance with Clark and Lex. And then SHIT GETS WEIRD. In a good way. And keeps getting weirder. A rollercoaster of weird. It's like the freaking Matrix of weird: no one can tell you how weird the created reality of the vid is, you have to see it for yourself. It's romantic...sort of. It's sad...sort of. If you're like me, you'll be laughing til you're crying (or vice versa, I'm not sure).
I'm just so impressed with the strange and convincing things the co-vidders were able to accomplish that left me wondering if there was an episode of Smallville that had...certain things in it. How did they do it? Impressive vidder magic, is how, along with evil genius minds.

Puck has no memory of him and is baffled by Kurt's nervous reaction to him but is interested enough to try and get to the bottom of whatever Kurt is trying to hide.
Review:
I hesitate for the longest time about which fic I could rec for our Harlequin theme week when I suddenly remember this story I read a long time ago on lj. I was quite happy to find it had been posted on AO3 recently.
You find here some of the best Harlequin clichés with a slight twist as it's a slash pairing with a male pregnancy. I love Puck as a cop with amnesia, Kurt as a competent shop owner and protective father.
Both Puck and Kurt are in characters while being quite true to the particularities of this AU. The rest of the cast is also well represented.
All in all, this fic is well-written, the dialogs are really well-done and it's a great Harlequin's adaptation.

Summary: Loki and Thor have been married since they were little and they grew up sharing a palace wing. The boys never shared a bed because Odin and Frigga wanted to make sure nothing inappropriate could happen while they were still young. They also used to get chaperoned a lot so that there could be no hanky panky. Everyone assumes that Loki and Thor’s marriage has progressed to include sex now that they’re adults and if the maids notice that there are still two beds being used in the princes’ wing, they know better than to gossip about it. Loki and Thor both desperately want to move their relationship to the next level. It’s just really awkward to change up a centuries old platonic relationship with your spouse. Neither of them ever had a change to figure out this romance stuff naturally and neither of them wants to pressure the other.
It all comes to a head when the boys take a trip to another realm and are given a single room when their hosts hears that they’re married.
Review: This is a hilarious fusion of a regency arranged marriage fic and a fix-it fic of the Avengers in which Loki woos his husband with the help of regency dresswear, pregnancy tests, and 'The Joy of Sex'.
Nataha is awesome as Loki's Agony aunt, Pepper remains the best PA the Avengers could ask for, Coulson manages to fend off Thor's accidental advances, and everybody gets their happily ever after

One of the things I really like about this story is the lack of 'Americanisms' that are so prevalent in HP fic. The pace of the story is good and the dialogue is well done. The characters, aside from Molly, remain in character fairly well. Molly isn't portrayed in a very good light in this one, fyi.
After re-reading this I realized that some of my head-canon for a few of the characters comes from this story.I love finding stories that are done differently than the norm and this story fits the bill nicely. This pairing in particular is generally done with Hermione/Lucius or Hermione/Severus as the focus and later bringing the other in. This one does start with Hermione/Severus, but Severus and Lucius already have a relationship going and the three come up with an interesting arrangement that suits them all.

Mpreg isn't usually my cup of tea, unless it is made believable. The way this one is written, it fits in with the mythology of Immortals without clashing with the idea that they can't have children. Extremely well done and well worth reading.

Summary: "Intemperance," a story from the secret journals of Doctor John H. Watson, intimate friend and long-time companion of the infamous Sherlock Holmes: A most curious and instructive report of the great man's improbable fecundation, gestation, and parturition.
Review: This fic starts out after Holmes discovers that he's become pregnant and can't bring himself to do anything but carry it to term. So he turns to the only Doctor he can trust with such a delicate matter. What follows is a story in which Dr. Watson gets an education, Mary is BAMF, and Holmes can't help but be a detective even when bedridden.
This fic deals a lot with matters of sodomy and being transgender during Victorian times. I can't say how accurate it is since I don't know much about that time period, but the narrative is believable and very true to the characters despite the differences in their lives from canon.
I was particularly impressed by how kept the language more Victorian in nature without bogging the story down with style.
