Summary:
A celebration of pilots, captains, engineers, crew members, and the spacecraft they love to fly. (And race, and crash, and fix, and play in, and fight in, and...)
Review:
This is one of my favorite vids ever (no lie). It's a perfect combination of music and content, and as a life-long sci-fi fan I adore the love and care the vidder shows to the genre and joy the vid gets across. There are great little character moments, and I particularly liked how Bironic wove together similar situations in the INCREDIBLE HUGE amounts of fandoms into coherent sequences (wormholes, crashes, ode to engineers, and my favorite the spinning/crashing sequence).

Summary: "So this isn't a fake-out plot device. It's a cut-away fantasy sequence episode, where we feature a number of different unlikely sequences that provide a break from the regular format while still showing recognizable traits of the characters." Abed dreams about being the Inspector, and it starts a trend.
Review:
Community is very much a show for people who watch TV shows, and its use of meta and tropes sometimes makes it difficult to create fanworks. If you can imagine it, then it's been jossed*, kripked* or lampshaded* already (often at the same time). If you go for straight up drama or romance, it feels overwrought; if you go for humor, it seems cracky and unrealistic; and if you go for meta, it's the psychic equivalent of staring at a Magic Eye poster too long: your head hurts and the whole thing doesn't seem very fun anymore. But sometimes, an author will hit the sweet spot between heart, great character interplay and straight-up crack that makes the show so damn great. This is one of those stories. "Dallased..." is 14,858 words of glorious meta crack, and kept me giggling all the way through to the end. The Community gang plays out fantasies set in different fandom, to hilarious effect. Abed's fourth-wall breakage is sharp and apt, and I got a real feel for the group as a whole and as individuals. There is a bit of a Troy/Abed/Annie OT3 vibe throughout the story that's adorable and awesome and I kind of want to read about their adventures forever. In conclusion, go read this. You won't regret it :)

He gives her an encouraging grin. “You gotta look on the bright side—Troy and Abed almost detonated a nuclear weapon for you. You know you’re important when you’ve got friends willing to plunge the world into a nuclear holocaust.”
Truer words were never said :) This is a wonderfully UST-filled fic, with great dialogue and a fun plot, and I encourage all fans of Community to read it.

Summary: In which kissing is misinterpreted, hole punches are dangerous, Annie has a bountiful list of reasons for her behaviour, and Jeff has a tough, tough time.
Review:
I may be stretching the definition of 'canon' with this rec, because Community does not so much "'ship tease" as "'ship cockblock". They seem to enjoy raising the hopes of a thousand fervent shippers on high (see: 1.25 "Pascal's Triangle Revisited") , and then dashing them soundly against the jagged rocks of parody (see: 2.21 "Paradigms of Human Memory"). But anyhow, enough of my feeble rationalizations! Onto the rec!
This is vintage season 1 fic, and I love how self-confidant and 'reasonable' Annie comes off in this. The dialog (both inner and outer) and banter in the fic are spot-on, and I loved how even in fanfic, Abed continues to break the fourth wall without a blink of an eye. I don't read a lot of Community fanfic (my tolerance for breaking the show/fandom fourth wall is used up just by watching the show, most days), but this is one of my favorites so far.
Note: The author warns for Britta OOC, but I think that it's not actually all that bad, given what I know about the character. And I can forgive a lot for good writing :)
“MR. ROCHESTER IS EVERYTHING THAT’S WRONG WITH HUMANITY.”
“I thought that was Grey’s Anatomy,” Shirley says.
“They’re both everything that’s wrong with humanity,” Britta fumes. “Hell, he can be McLocksHisWifeInTheAtticAndThenLiesAboutItToHisWayTooYoungGirlfriendOfInferiorSocialStanding.”
“Dude,” Troy says, “spoiler alert.”
“It’s his wife in the attic??” Pierce asks, dismayed.
“This vein of humour is abnormally literary,” Abed observes. “Like, if our lives were a TV show, or maybe fanfiction about a TV show, this would be written by an English major

Summary: Annie drops a crazy-bomb on the group.
Review:
This is a charming vignette between the Spanish study group, as Annie announces that she has dumped her boyfriend Vaughn (for issues that may or may not be due to unsatisfactory genitalia size), and is now in desperate need of a date for the prom.
