Summary: Raleigh Becket is stuck with an apartment that's too expensive for him to pay for by himself, a severe lack of stable employees, and a complete lack of control over his life. Luckily, he meets Mako Mori, an engineering student who is starting school in a week and has found herself homeless and broke as a result of apartment fraud.
This is the story of their adventures. It includes Mako being 100% badass, Yancy taking stupid selfies of himself, Russians flying helicopters, and Raleigh *continuing* to have a complete and utter lack of control over his life.
tl;dr: Coffeeshop!AU where Mako Mori is a flawless human being, and nothing hurts.
Review: This is a sweet story where Raleigh and Mako end up helping each other out of a series of bad days.
There isn't a lot of tension to the story, but that is kind of the point. It is a short, light fic that will leave you with a smile.

Summary: Maybe someday Newton will forgive him.
Review: Definitely make sure you read the authors note with warnings before you start reading the fic. Some of the scenes can be triggering.
This fic combines some of my favorite themes, domesticity, trans characters, and positive character growth.
Herman is an ass at the beginning of this.It is understandable given the circumstances, but it is still something he has to move passed.
A lot of the stories conflict is following not only Herman's learning how to deal with Newt's changing gender, but with the consequences of his original reaction. What makes this so great is that unlike a lot of fics based on the same premise it doesn't shy away from dealing with the different relationships that two people can have with each other.
All the way from Newt and Herman's first love, to their falling out, to them coming back together for work and learning how they fit together, first as coworkers, then friends, and finally as lovers once more.

Summary:What if the Kaidonovskys had survived? Sasha and Aleksis learn how to live again in the aftermath of the war - together. This is the story of their happily ever after. Shameless fix-it fic.
Review: This is a great fix it fic for Pacific Rim, where Sasha is a big mother hen to all the younger pilots while still being her kick-butt self and taking on issues of sterility, dog training, and the occasional assassination attempt.
It's great to see the pilots move on with their lives and start families after the end of the movie. And I have an admittedly large soft spot for domesticity and the Kaidanovskies

Summary: Charles Andrew Hansen is the single most obnoxious Beta ninety-eight percent of people have ever had to work with, and that’s a fact. He's also not actually a Beta.
(Chuck/Raleigh, A/B/O-verse. Chuck has gender issues and daddy issues and world-ending issues. And then the world ends, but it doesn't take him with it. Now if only everything else worked out that well.)
Review: This is an awesome Omega!verse of Pacific Rim. Heavy on the science and considerations of the biological ramifications of the different genders, which means it fits in well with the Pacific Rim universe where science has progressed to the point of creating Jaegers.
Despite the complete universe change everybody is very in character. I particularly love Chuck, who isn't willing to let a simple change in his gender status or the fact that he's going into heat during the end of the world, keep him from going out there to get the job done. (Or from speaking his mind)

Summary: There are dragons in the world. It only matters from certain angles.
Review: While very short, this is a great fic for the details. Everything weaves together into a cohesive whole. Every detail highlighted or glossed over helps build a world where Dragon's exist.

Summary:Newt really, really wants to go to the convention for the best scifi film of the last 20 years, Atlantic Edge, but he doesn't have the money.
Or: Newt and Hermann have to pretend to be engaged, everyone has a sad past, Mako owns a coffee shop, Raleigh's a giant puppy, and Hannibal Chau writes self-insert fanfic.
Review: Geeks in Love mixed with Marriage of convenience. I love this story and how it uses a setup for a movie called 'Atlantic Rim' that mirrors Pacific Rim. And then takes it to the next step when it adds to scientific prowess of Newton and Herman which makes Drift Technology come to life.
Also both of them are really believable geeky, which as a geek at heart makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Even if you aren't familiar with the Pacific Rim fandom, definitely consider this as a gateway story into the fandom.

Summary:Someone is screaming, and the water is cold, and they are, any minute now, going to die. So they could clasp hands, run the rabbit down and die, feeling nothing but the memory.
Or they could fight.
Alternately:
Surviving is easy. It's what comes after that's hard.
Review: One of the first lines of this story is "They could reach out, clasp hands across the conn pod, and chase the rabbit down as far as it’ll go, and die on their wedding day, or his 18th birthday, or the first day they killed a Kaiju, Cherniy still whole and still home."
And that pretty much sums up, where this story fixes canon. The Kaidonovskies, don't chase the rabbit. Instead they fight, and survive. Because they are Russian, and just that tough and in love.
Don't read this if you tend to have problems with near-death experiences and drowning, but I promise it does have a happy ending if you do decide to read

Summary:In the case of Drs Newton Geiszler and Hermann Gottleib, "bickering like an old married couple" was actually a fairly literal description of them. After all, they had started dating one year after Newt came aboard the PPDC, then married two years after that. So maybe the "old" part of "old married couple" wasn't perfectly accurate, but it was really just technicalities at that point.
Review: This is a very sweet series of time stamps/snippets from the shared lives of Drs Newt Geiszler and Hermann Gottleib. I love what Amuly did with Hermann's limp, and how she uses it to both show his strength and Newt's loyalty.
I love how it starts out with Raliegh's POV to ground it in the timeline of the movie, before moving on to show all the time before and after the movie.

Summary:Another escape pod is found near the Breach, shortly after Raleigh and Mako are located, and Chuck is alive, but in critical condition and suffering from radiation poisoning. His indeterminate status makes celebration difficult. Each person attempts to do their best to forge ahead after they've cancelled the apocalypse - and relationships tend to be forged, rather than broken, as there is still plenty for the PPDC to do.
Tendo takes on Max duty and Raleigh takes on Chuck duty so Herc can focus on his new responsibilities, Hermann waits for the birth of his first child, and Tendo and Newt seize the opportunity to make a move on long-held crushes.
Review: This is a great, happy-making fix-it fix for the end of Pacific Rim. It does a great job giving everybody a happy ending while still being relivable, and without glossing over all of the problems the Jaeger pilot's experience.
