Summary:
Elodie knew that a princess had only one chance to rule wisely. Elodie knew wrong.
Review:
Long Live the Queen is a peculiar little simulation game that takes place in a magical kingdom, following the forty weeks leading up to the fifteenth birthday and subsequent coronation of the Princess Elodie. She begins as a sheltered young girl, utterly unprepared for the duties that await her. Over the course of the forty weeks, the player chooses what skills Elodie should learn from her tutors and selects her reactions to events. If the proper skills and responses are chosen, Elodie lives to her fifteenth birthday and becomes Queen. If not, Elodie dies. And dies, and dies, and dies.
Choose Well, Choose Wisely, Choose Again presents an Elodie who becomes conscious of the repetitive nature of the game over the course of her resurrections and subsequent 'playthroughs'. Most interestingly, tuesday incorporates the game's unusual mechanics into the in-universe lore and subtly molds the functionally immortal Elodie into an avatar of the gamer who plays the game again and again in search of perfection.

Pairing: Bilbo Baggins/Thorin Okenshield
Categories: AU, Hurt/Comfort, Time Travel
Length: Super-Epic (213K)
Warnings: Character Typical Violence
Author on LJ: n/a
Website: A03
Summary: When he opens his eyes again, he finds himself in his old bed in his old home in his old body. Is this death? Or a trick of magic? Either way, Bilbo recognizes a second chance when he sees one, and this time his adventure with Thorin is going to go a bit differently.
Review: This fic ate my soul. I couldn't put it down for around three days straight.
The Characterization is spot on, and while I've read a lot of going back in time to fix the past fics, I was really impressed by how Silver_pup changed not only Bibo's behavior but that of all the secondary characters as well.
The same events happened, but Bilbo's chanced behavior and outlook had some unexpected effects, even to Bilbo. I can't say much more without messing up the lovely twists and turns Silver_pup works in, but if you are looking for an epic, with a lot of personal character growth and suspense then this might be the fic for you.
There are some spoilers for both the Hobbit and LOTR so read with caution if this is your first time reading in the hobbit fandom.

Groundhog Day AU. Danny finds himself trapped in the same day over and over again.
Review: This was one of the first fics I read in the fandom. I really love Groundhog Day AU's, and this is a fine example of that. I love how Danny changes each day, taking advantage of what he learned the loop before to try and make things better the next trip around. For himself and for his friends. The solution for ending the time loop makes me laugh, because of course. Ember's writing style is easy to read and the story moves along briskly. This fic reminds me why I'm so fond of all these characters.

Summary: After his leap into the Seine, Javert finds himself back in Montreuil-sur-Mer on the morning of his first appointment with M. Madeleine. He soon discovers that while his choices can change the outcome of things, nothing can stop death from delivering him back to that same morning.
Now he has to defeat the game of fate or keep returning to 1820, eternally dying without finding peace.
Review: This started out as a Kink-meme fill that grew, got betaed, and was recently reposted in it's entirety on Ao3
Beautifully written and extremely touching, Toil Until the Colour's Fade is one of the best ground-hog day redemption fics that I've seen. A lot of that has to do with DrCalvin's very stong Javert voice.
He fails, falls into depression, falls in love, and continues this cycle for years never knowing why or when he will be called back to the first moments of his life. What makes this so different from many of the ground-hog's day fix-it fics before it, is that Dr. Calvin doesn't give Javeart a particular time period that he is forced to repeat. Instead he has a whole life to try and piece together.
If he manages to find a way to fix on piece of his life, he gets to live further and learn more about what went wrong. Until finally he is able to live all the way through the events of "Le Mis". And then even further...

Author's Summary: The best thing you can have during the apocalypse is a healthy sense of irony. Or a decent car, infinite replenishing supplies and magical powers, but the irony helps.
Review:
This post-apocalyptic road trip is eerie, badass and brimming with the bizarre. You get moments like Merlin moving closer to kiss Arthur while animated skeletons reap with rusty sickles. It's not dark fic, but it fits this week's supernatural theme nicely, and I had a blast behind the wheel of Arthur's BMW in a world gone grim.
Arthur and Merlin are strangers at the start, and I like the way they need to trust one another. I love the always sharp, frequently unsettling, and occasionally funny-as-hell tone that phantomjam nails. The wall is so well described that driving through it made me shudder. The songs on the ipod are a great touch, and the back seat gets a nice Arthur/Merlin workout.
I don't know how the end of the world happened. I only know I read this and thought WTF?! And immediately wanted to read it again.

Summary: The many lives of Mohinder Suresh
Review:
My name is Mohinder Suresh.
I was born April 8th, 2015, in Chennai, India.
My father, Chandra Suresh, was murdered at 11:53 PM on September 28th, 2047, by a man named Sylar.
This fic is short and sweet mindfuck, with a chilling premise and a great execution. The first person perspective and sparse prose hint but never outright state "Zane's" goals, as he makes Mohinder relive that fateful roadtrip with him, over and over. But it's the details of each iteration of Mohinder's trip which paint a delightfully disturbing scene. As you get farther and further into the narrative, you start to doubt even the most fundamental premises of the story- why is Sylar constantly wiping Mohinder's memory? Why does he keep changing the narrative that he's built for Mohinder? Is the narrator even really Mohinder? I've read this story countless times, and each time I take away something new. If you're a fan of Sylar, brainwashing or "The Stepford Wives", mosey on down to the link below.
