They had names now, the men in the 1967 Chevy Impala were Sam and Dean Winchester, and they were trying to save the world.
Review:
The first third of the story is told entirely for the point of view of Billy (aka Dr. Horrible) as he watches supernatural threats explode across the country. He tracks the attacks--ghosts, monsters, demons--and observes the attacks always end after a black Impala rolls through town.
Not wanting to be a villain anymore, and realizing that the Winchesters are being herded into a trap, Billy goes out and joins them. His entrance is pretty epic. I really loved Dean's maniacal love of the weapons Billy creates for them. There's also exploration of Billy's verging-on multiple-personality issues.
While I love this story for the action, the characterizations and overall great writing, I'm not particularly fond of incest stories; if that's a deal-breaker for you, you can read the first two chapters (which are just gen), and skip the third.

Due to erratic internet access (and maybe just a touch of burnout) I have to announce that this is going to be my last day as a full-time reccer for Epic Recs. It's been over three years since I first started this comm as a way to share my favorite stories and between my fabulous co-reccers, the always entertaining recs from our readers, and the challenge of the theme weeks, this comm has grown far beyond my greatest expectations. You've all been wonderful, as readers, as lurkers, and as reccers and I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heard for a brilliant run.

I love the fact that Diana is the one to reassure Bruce that sex, while quite acceptable, won't be required in the marriage, I love that Bruce is kind of a dick while still quite obviously falling in love, I love that Superman is an idiot, albeit an adorable one, and I really love all of the cameos from the other JLA members (especially J'onn, who doesn't say anything at all in this fic and yet is quite possibly the most awesome character in it). A good choice for people who love great characters.

First I should note that the plot of this story is underwritten to the point that it doesn't actually make much sense (I'm assuming that it's based on an actual DCU storyline and thus Betty skipped a lot of important details to avoid boring readers). If you can read a fic just for the characters, however, this is a very fun, enjoyable story.
