Shortly before Christmas, Blair gets hurt in an explosion. Schmoopiness with a capital SCHMOOP ensues.

I waffled on this one for a while, because Blair is so very, very woobie in this fic and I personally like my Blair with a bit more self-esteem and confidence. On the other hand, the holidays are the perfect time for angsty melodrama and this is very much a holiday fic.

For those in the mood for some holiday hurt/comfort, you'll find the writing is good, Jim's characterization is great, and Simon is perfect. Best of all are the stories of some of Jim and Blair's previous Christmases, which were both fascinating and heartwarming (I could have read a whole fic just of Christmas stories).

In the end, if you're a fan of comfort fic and Christmas stories in general, I think you'll quite enjoy this tale.
