Summary: At the age of three-and-twenty, Jane Austen was not a young woman anyone would have supposed destined for a remarkable life. Until she met the peculiar Dr. Smith.

Review: I liked this fic because I think it really stuck to the style of the Tenth Doctor. One of the tags for it on AO3 is "bittersweet," which is the exact feeling that I got when I read it, and a feeling that goes very well with Ten. The simultaneous exuberance, lonliness, and snark of the Doctor was spot-on in Miss Ausen and Dr. Smith, and the way that hannasus wrote his mannersisms and habits really made him come alive in the story.

While I don't know much about Jane Austen (I've only read Pride and Prejudice, myself), I enjoyed how she was represented in the story - curious, intelligent, and bold. Her actions with the Doctor were particularly delightful. This is a great example of a gen fic done well. It's entertaining and emotional without being all about a romantic relationship between the titular characters. It would have made for a wonderful Doctor Who special, in my opinion.
