Author's Summary:
Sometimes evil touches the lives of the most ordinary of folks. How does a reasonably intelligent woman view the Winchester boys when they cross her path?
“Have you noticed Edna Ann that your chickens only get mutilated during full moons? Maybe you got yourself a werewolf.”
Review:
Original characters can be particularly problematic in fics, especially if they are the primary character. This story does not fall into any OC pitfalls. It's a case-fic, told from start to finish by Annie, a southern woman who realizes her town is being menaced by a werewolf.
My favorite part is when she encounters Dean and Sam and sees through their thinly constructed cover as Wildlife and Game agents. I love her cleverness and humor, and the case itself is interestingly hinted at. The confrontation with the werewolf had me on the edge of my seat, and while the author had me worried, it assuredly has a happy ending.
