Title: Go-Cart Charlie
Author: Red Soprano
Fandom: Numb3rs, Medium
Pairing: Gen (except for Joe/Allison, but they're canonically married with kids)
Categories: drama, crossover
Length: long
Warnings: none
Author on LJ: n/a?
Website: Red Soprano's Fanfiction Index
Author's Summary: A deadly vision enables the Eppes family to confront a deadly foe.
Review:
Even if the idea of a Numb3rs/Medium crossover doesn't immediately presents itself as obvious, Red Soprano's works extremely well (it helps that both shows are set in the "real" world so they end up meshing quite well without thorny canon contradictions). Essentially, Allison, a psychic who works with the Phoenix DA, has a premonition that a boy with curly hair's go-cart has been sabotaged. Commence the figuring-out of said premonition and the attempts to stop anything bad from happening to Charlie.
The plot cleverly brings together both shows and makes use of the nifty EGV seen early in the Numb3rs show. The best part of the stories is the characters. It's very much focused on families and features a lovely cameo by Margaret Eppes as the ghost haunting Allison. Because it was written before the psychic episode on Numb3rs, it's slightly AU in that Charlie is for more accepting of psychic phenomena than in the show, but aside from that it's quite in keeping with both shows and is told from a spot-on Allison POV.
