Author's Summary: Danny Phantom goes missing for five months and then suddenly turns up again. And who is the strange boy hanging around Caspar High?

Review:
Danny Phantom is not necessarily a small fandom, but finding quality, epic fics is a a bit of challenge. Nylah's Memories really tops the list of good stories in the fandom, mostly for her excellent use of Vlad Masters, Danny's archnemesis. Even in the cartoon, he manages to come off as extremely creepy because even though he is the archvillain of the show he also has an uncomfortable obsession with Danny: Vlad wants to make him his son/apprentice and he's also in love with Danny's mother. Nylah exploits that creepiness very well.

The story is told in two timelines: one slowly reveals the details of Danny's time in Vlad's captivity. The other, main timeline tells the story of what happens after he escapes and returns to Amity Park, and it deals with Danny's attempts to fit back into his life after a very traumatic, life-changing experience that's made even worse because his friends and family have been enspelled to forget his very existence.

It's a good, angsty read that deals with the fact that even after escaping, the trauma isn't really over.
