This fic was written for a “The Day After Tomorrow” challenge, where authors were supposed to write about how the characters in their chosen fandoms dealt with the end of the world. Yahtzee’s choice of “Joan of Arcadia” – a series where the main character speaks directly to God – was particularly powerful in this context, making the fic a worthwhile read even for those who (like me) are not very familiar with the fandoms involved.

Yes, I completely agree: I'd rec this story to anyone (and have, on my own site and possibly even in rare fandoms week here). Beautiful and heartbreaking and gripping and powerful. Yahtzee's one of my favourite fanfiction writers, and this story was one of the reasons why.
Oh, and thanks so much for posting the link to the Day After Tomorrow challenge - I knew from the fic summary that it existed but I had no idea where to find the other fics. I will add the others to my reading list :)
I included the link because I thought the challenge was very interesting. I haven't read any of the other fics yet, but I've added some of them to my reading list as well.
