Review:
One of the major problems with Austen fic (and P&P ones in particular, as they comprise 90% of the fandom) is that after a while most stories start blurring together, as they tend to be variations of the same plots.

"The Color of Love" is a rare fic that, while keeping with some of the novel's themes (like how deceitful first impressions can be), brings something new to the table. In it Darcy has a condition known as synesthesia, which makes him perceive the written words in different colors. It is both a curse and a blessing, for while it can obscure the true nature of some people, it can also make him understand his innermost desires. Through the fic's beautiful imagery, Darcy's perspective on his life and the events of the novel bring an original and wonderfully crafted perspective to one of literature's most famous love stories.
