Review:
Despite its low ratings and eventual cancellation, The Middleman was a short lived but hilariously funny series based on a comic series of the same name. Featuring a crazy cast of characters, ridiculously cheesy storylines, and snappy dynamic duo, it was a series I rooted for right from the start. Naturally, after only a twelve episode season, it was cancelled. Cue my scouring the ‘net for any and all fan fiction I can find and stumbling upon this little gem.

‘The Fibbing Mat Entanglement’ isn’t a very long story, tapping out just barely above in the ‘medium’ category, but even so, it packs a punch with excellent characterization and a believable storyline. The author doesn’t seem to have any trouble capturing the tone of the series, which always toes the line of the absurd and can be difficult to write even at the best of times. Better still is the fact that the dynamic between the Middleman and Wendy is just right, with their relationship tilting between best friends, superhero and sidekick, and highly entertaining flirting buddies. It’s really too bad the series itself is over or the author didn't write more, I would have loved more like this.
