Review:
This is the third rec in my BDSM-verse rec series. Other recs in this series include The Spaces Inside (recc'd here), and Take Clothes Off as Directed (recc'd here) (which are NOT part of Xanthe's unvierse, but they are still a part of an universe where BDSM relationships are the norm).
If you are a fan of Xanthe's The General and Dr. Sheppard universe, be prepared to SQUEE!!! This is exactly how I pictured John and Rodney's high school years would be like had they, you know, actually met in high school in Xanthe's universe. And I was also very happy that we finally got to meet Gil and Adam (John's parents), who are absolutely wonderful characters (Thank you for creating them, Elayna!).
For those of you not familiar with Xanthe's BDSM-universe or are weary of BDSM stories in general--fear not--tops and subs are very much equals in this universe. Tops care for their subs and, in return, they may have their subs' freely given submission. It's a lovely system, really.

For all that the notes say Take Clothes Off is a tribute, it isn't. You should put a qualifier on that recommendation.

Thank you for the rec! I have renamed this one to be High School Confidential: John, and posted the sequel High School Confidential: Rodney, which follows immediately after. I've also posted another fic further along in the timeline called Never Alone. There will be at least one more, High School Confidential: Manic Monday, probably posted next week.

I loved the BDSM universe you created and am looking forward to the NCIS story (::hint hint::) :)
Thanks for pointing out the...you know. I think "Take Clothes Off as Directed" has a rather dystopic feel to it (though I did like the story, fandom disagreements aside), and I suppose the world could have turned out that way. Of course, I much rather live in the world you've created.
