Review:
Some of the best “High School Musical” fics are those that manage to convey the utter confusion, despair and delight that being a teenager can bring. “Boy Disease” certainly fits that category. It’s about Chad and Ryan and how their friendship develops into more, but it’s also about growing up and apart from those you’ve known all your life, being confused about who you are, hurting for not having what you want. It’s about misunderstandings, friends who are loyal (and those who screw up without really meaning to) and how being in love can be utterly glorious and yet at the same time incredibly heart wrenching.
