Title: Rules of Engagement
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: Rodney/John
Category: romance, angst, marriage-of-convenience, post-series
Length: long
Warnings: none

Author on LJ: velocitygrass
Website: n/a

Author's Summary: Apparently, he was going to marry Rodney McKay.

Review:
Rodney and John are back on Earth after the Atlantis mission ended, and Rodney feels it is finally time for him to pursue his real lifelong goal--winning the Nobel Prize. But he is missing one thing. A husband (because the uberf!institute with the best uber!lab won't hire him unless he can demonstrate some interpersonal skills, and to Rodney, that translated to a husband. Genius, really). And who else to ask other than dear old friend John Sheppard, who is getting nowhere in his Air Force career.

This is the perfect romance story suitable for pretty much everyone. In just under twenty-two thousand words, the author spins a clever story of marriage-of-convenience, misunderstandings (lots of angst!), family drama, and most importantly, love.Very likable Rodney and John, though John may seem somewhat out-of-character (or fanon?), and great supporting AND supportive secondary characters from the McKay/Sheppard households.

A story that will definitely lift up your spirits. Highly recommended.

Oh, argh. People have been reccing SGA to me for ages now and I was directed to rentboy fics, death fics, and fics fillled with angst and no happy endings. So, I avoided picking up a new fandom. And now you've recced this and I read it and well, it was good. ^__^ Thanks, I think.

I definitely will, and I really do appreciate the gentle nudge into the fandom.

I'm glad this got you interested in SGA :) Most of my SGA recs are also pretty fluffy and have happy endings (except for Ichor and Written by the Victors).
