Author’s Summary: A novel that's mostly about fire, in many forms: the aftermath of loss, its purging nature, the destructive force of a wildfire, the fever of obsession, and the flame of love.

Review:
I have to admit that the first time I read this story, I had no clue what it was going to be about. It was simply sitting on a Magnificent Seven rec list with no summary or pairing attached and I decided that I liked the title so I gave it a shot. I’m so glad I did.

Tapping out somewhere in the novel-length category, The Lucifer Match is as much about pain and loss as it is about hope and redemption, with all of those sometimes weaving together so tightly in the story it’s hard to tell one from the other. Chris, in particular, is put through an emotional wringer that ends up affecting all of the seven, and both helps and hinders his growing relationship with Vin. Despite all the angst and hurt (of which there is a lot) in this fic, the author still does an admirable job of creating a storyline that makes the reader feel hope for a better future for all the characters, as well as finally close a dark chapter in Chris’ past.

Overall, I’d say that if you’re looking for a story to sink your teeth into or are just curious about how things might have went after the series ended, this is the fic for you.
