For the Supernatural/Horror/Dark fic week...

Title : The Haunting
Fandom : The Sentinel
Pairings : Gen
Categories : Supernatural
Length : Medium (~ 11000 words)
Warnings : Non graphic mention of children's tortures, rapes and murders

Author in LJ : n/a
Author website : TV Lit 101

Summary :
42 people were cruelly murdered. Now they want Jim to find their killer.

Review :
This fic is part of a bigger verse by D.L. Whiterspoon but can be read alone. You can find all the other stories on the author's website.

I always enjoy reading a story where Jim gets a kind of sixth sense... And the author makes it believable here. I like how Jim is both strong and vulnerable in this story. It makes him very human in spite of his extra abilities. Blair and Simon are also well-written. There are strong enough to help Jim overcomes the difficulties he faces during this case.

The fic deals with dark themes (see the warning above) but in a non graphic way. And I don't think it's harder than what you could see or read int the press in such a police case report.

This sounds like an interesting rec, but I am afraid the Supernatural/Horror/Dark is only next week...

Did you not tell me the thematic rec was on the third week of the month?
I will just be forced to read more fics to find another one for next week. Life is sooooooooo hard...

Usually, yes, but there are exceptions. Next week is the last "full" week of the month and the one closest to Halloween, so it is the one that gets the theme. In February, for instance, it is the week that has Valentine's day. I always send a reminder beforehand (should be out today).
