Review:
An Argentinian visitor to London is found murdered, reminding detective Hercule Poirot and his assistant Captain Arthur Hastings that although life is short there is no reason that it must always be lonely.

I have to admit that this fic completely took me by surprise. It was the first of its fandom that I’d read and it went quite a ways to making me the Poirot/Hastings fan I am today. Excellently written and cleverly plotted, Android does a fantastic job not only with the characters but also with making the pairing seem plausible and, almost, inevitable.

While I’m hesitant to give away any of the plot, I will say that the case involved is as intriguing and emotionally charged as the best (or worst, depending on your point of view) of Poirot’s cases. Thankfully, Poirot and Hastings have each other (and Miss Lemon and Inspector Japp) to get them through the ordeal and into each other’s arms.

Thank you so much for this rec. I have read everything by agatha christie, and love poirot, so it is great when I can read some really well written fanfic, and then it's like I am able to stay in that world a little longer.

Thanks! :)

Just a quick drive-by to thank you for your kind comments; I must confess that The Real Captain Hastings was one of the most enjoyable pieces of writing I've ever done - it was tremendous fun from start to finish - and it's always a great delight to learn that other people have gained pleasure from it too!
