Review:
What appears to be a fossilized clawed hand is found in the Amazon. It leads scientist David Reed on a journey that uncovers something, and someone, he buried in his subconscious years before.

As a big classic movie fan, this fic was nearly impossible for me to pass-up. Featuring a small smattering of dialog from the film and a pretty unheard of pairing, I was surprised and delighted with how well it worked and how well the author managed to re-tell the story without it losing its original appeal. Though I have to admit I wasn’t completely enchanted with the whole mpreg aspect of the fic , I was intrigued by how Tinnean managed to get these two together and thread the impact of their inevitable romance throughout David’s life, even when he wasn't aware of it.

All in all, if you’re willing to take this fic for what it is, a not too serious romp in the lagoon, you’ll definitely enjoy it, fins and all.

The internet is a weird place. I was just thinking it'd been a really long time since I'd read any of Tinnean's fic, and lo, someone posts a rec to one.

Clearly, it is fate. :D

Thanks so much, [livejournal.com profile] slyprentice. I had fun with this fandom, although the mpreg aspect of it came as a surprise to me. One moment they were happily having sex, and the next, David was pregnant.

But that led to A Predestined End (http://www.angelfire.com/fl5/tinnssinns/EndA.html). (Since most of that is original characters and situations, I'm thinking of possibly taking that down and reworking it to be published.) It could be fun. *g*

You're quite welcome and I understand what you mean about writing; the characters can sometimes take us to unexpected places.

This is one of my favorites of yours so if you ever do rework it, I'll be thrilled! ;)

Thank you!

I took out the entire Robin/St. John part. (I wound up liking them best.) Maybe without them, I can get more yin and yang with Drew and Da'. And it occurred to me that not a single one of all the children Drew was supposed to have fathered ever showed up. What kind of dad does that make him? So I need to fix that. *g*

Thank you so much for the rec. I love it when I find stories about older movies. I can't wait to read this one. Thanks! :)
