Summary: Do-gooding is harder than it looks.

Review: “To the No Longer Evil Lair!”

Chances of going from supervillain to superhero and getting it right first time were always pretty thin. This short story acts as a direct sequel to the movie, exploring Megamind's initial attempts to make Metro City safer for its citizens, as he's... not quite getting the right idea.

"Surely you liked my automatic respectability rover?”

“You mean the machine that accosts poorly-dressed citizens, steals their clothes, shears their hair, scrubs them down, and spits them out dressed in three-piece suits?” the chief’s voice was very sharp.

Tone, characterisation, and just the right the mix of cute, absurd, twisted and funny make this a perfect follow-up to the movie.
