Review:
River and Mal understand each other. They may even understand each other better than anyone else on the crew. So when they kiss one night in the cargo bay, it’s not really that surprising. The only surprising thing is how long it takes everyone else to figure it out.

Tesla321 is one of those authors who really seems to write for her own amusement. This isn’t a bad thing. In fact, some of the best stories I’ve read have been indulgence fics. That being said, this story is a bit different from most you’ll find out there. It was written over a rather long period of time, and was never edited afterward for cohesiveness. The writing itself is really excellent, but there are a few easy to spot spelling and grammatical errors.

The story is light and easier to read in chapters at a time than as a whole. There are some overlaps between chapters, due to POV change. One thing I’ve noticed from reading tesla321’s other works is that she doesn’t shy away from partner betrayal or simple breaking up, or, best of all, the one-night-stand with a friend angle. I love how realistic this makes her fics.

Hey, thanks for the kind words. I realize I am extremely sloppy in my tagging, etc., all quite right of you to point out. I'm more careful in my day job.

I know what you mean. My computer is insanely organized. My bedroom on the other hand...

I'll probably be reccing some of your 'Buffy' fic fairly soon; you are an imaginative writer whose works I truly enjoy.

I meant to reply but got interrupted by a power outage here---I didn't have any damage---but I really cherish what you said.
In the end, I really do write to please myself: I wrote Mal/River because I wanted to read it. Although I was an English major and wrote for years and years, I have never enjoyed creation more than just posting odd bits onto LJ. I would write more, but I have a lot more things going on in RL than when I first began to write. Sometimes I can't believe that I have written what I have written! Again, I wanted to say that I really do appreciate your consideration! It is a tremendous compliment.
