Title: Love and Other Hazardous Materials
Fandom: James Bond
Pairing: James Bond/Q
Categories/Genres: Humor, Romance
Length: Medium (3590 words)
Warnings: N/A
Author on LJ: N/A
Author Website: luchia
Summary:
"This is just getting ridiculous," M says when he finds Q trying to put motorized circular saw blades into a briefcase.
(Or, Q and James Bond love their jobs so very, very much.)
Review:
First of all, I have to admit a bias toward this fic, since it hinges on a Metal Gear Solid reference, and I have been an MGS fan for a very, very long time. Second, I find myself helplessly jealous of these two boys and their absolute adoration for their jobs. And who wouldn't be jealous of those who find such enjoyment in their work that it barely qualifies for the word?
Q is absolutely charming in this fic, simultaneously in and out of his depth as MI6's new Q. Bond is as Bond as ever, panting over new toys and cars when he's not wedging his way under Q's skin like a particularly obstinate and unreasonably attractive tick. M is aggrieved, their work is excellent, and Q and Bond manage to forge their own kind of happily ever after.
(Also, definitely watch the Youtube video before reading.)
