Review: When a spell causes Stiles and Derek to switch bodies, they decide to keep up the facade so they won't have to tell the sheriff about werewolves. As Stiles tries to master his new Alpha powers (and hold Peter's creepiness at bay), Derek finds himself stepping into the role of Sheriff Stilinski's son, along with all of the emotional fall-out it brings. Add Stiles's new ability to literally smell Derek's pain and loneliness (combined with his own loneliness and feelings of inadequacy post-season 2) and you have the perfect recipe for two characters learning how to understand and appreciate each other.

It took me a chapter or two to really get into this story, but once the body switch occurs, it really picks up speed. The hurt/comfort here is heavy on the comfort, in that delightfully over-the-top way that some slash stories are. Hand-holding and cuddling abound long before Derek and Stiles work up to their first kiss. In another mood, it might have been too much, but when I found it last week, it was exactly what I needed. I think I've read it three times since then. I love this take on Derek, who is adorably affectionate and shy once he feels secure in a relationship, and on Stiles, who is quick to take care of the people he loves. At its heart, "Trust Fall" is a story about two deeply lonely individuals finding solace in each other, and it's well-written to boot! Definitely try this one if you're in the need of a little emotional pick-me-up yourself.

Can we leave comments here? I haven't seen any others yet, so if I'm breaking the rules already, I'll gladly delete.

Anyway, this is my favorite all time TW fic. The best thing about it is I don't usually go with body switch stories, but this one is done right. It's laugh out loud funny in spots and I've read it several times since discovering it a few months ago.

Great rec and an enthusiastic two thumbs up!!
