Review:
The Knowable Universe is an expansion on the Arby's scene between Carlos and Cecil, delving deeper into Cecil's headspace as he and Carlos fumble through the tentative beginnings of a romantic relation. It's stellarly written, with clever little literary flourishes and the most accurate Carlos and Cecil voices I've ever read in a fic written before we even got to hear Carlos' actual voice.
There's also a subtle sensuality, a hastily repressed sexuality that oozes from the narration without being overtly sexy while typifying that very first is-it-a-date-or-not-a-date. To me this fic is the quintessential Arby's fic.
