Review: This story is Dark. Pay attention to the warnings and please take care when you are reading it.

In a world where feline shifters are considered a lesser breed and forced into slavery the minute they are discovered, John grew up and became a Air Force Shifter. Through the events at the Antarctic base it is discovered that all shifters have the ATA gene.

This changes the course of history as the SGC uses this new information to free the felines. This in turn changes everything about the Atlantis mission.

What really impressed me about this fic is how blackchaps gave John two district but partnered viewpoints. That of himself as a human and that of himself as a feline. Also the fact that Rodney is a cat lover is used to good effect to get him to ignore the self-preservation instinct and become John's biggest supporter. And as for the romance, lets just say my biggest soft spot when it comes to romance is when both of the lovers are willing and able to protect and stand up for each other.

Your rec was really well written and mentioned the key points to get me interested in trying out this story (I hadn't really read any shifter verse before)
