One of the most enjoyable aspects of Welcome to Night Vale, (aside from Cecil's dulcet, suede tones), is how the town's weirdness seems normal after a while, how its complete lack of logic and sense flow in logical, sensible ways once you get used to them. Even the unpredictable can be anticipated, when you're in Night Vale. So when Carlos is unexpectedly confronted with the reality Cecil's multidimensional, eldritch form after a guest interview gone terribly wrong, he just shrugs his shoulders and accepts it as part of the man he loves. He's an outsider, not a bigot.

The reconciliation of science and religion (or lack thereof). is a charming little slice of Night Vale: the familiar grind of day-to-day life layered thickly with a Lovecraftian lacquer, all seen from the perspective of the not-quite-outsider-anymore scientist Carlos. For the romantics, there's a pinch of love overcoming all obstacles, and for the action fans, a daring rescue. And for anyone listening out there, the weather.
