Readers' Recs!
Do you have some favorite fics in fandoms that rarely show up atSmall Fandoms at ER are any fandoms which have 5 or fewer recs in the comm, regardless of the how big the actual fandom is (you can check out how many recs a fandom has with our tags).
Things to keep in mind:
- Recced stories can be any length, any fandom, and any pairing, as long as they fit the theme.
- You don't need to write a review (unless you want to). All that you need to include are title, author, and link to the story (all parts if there are more than one).
- Fic or media as a single file are preferred, if available.
- WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING A NEW RECCER. Reccers are accepted by invitation only and the invitations are issued primarily based on their response to RR posts. If you're interested in reccing each week, respond to this post (or one of the previous RR posts) with a full rec, including everything in our rec template: Title, Author, Rating, Pairing, Genres, Length, Summary, and Review (including a paragraph or more about why you liked the story).
- If you'd like to use our reccing template, you can find it under the cut.

Review:
This was the fic that I wanted after playing Ace Attorney 4. Seeing Phoenix brought so low in AA4 was painful and heartbreaking for me; this is the fic about how he not only gets back to where he was, but reaches something better. What's really lovely is seeing both Phoenix and Miles take concrete steps to improve their lives, with the love and support of their friends, and managing to achieve their own happiness. This is a sweet and heartwarming fic that is the perfect resolution to the things that were broken in AA4.
A Turnabout Toast (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8345927/1/A-Turnabout-Toast)
Fandom: The New Professionals
Pairing: Chris Keel/Sam Curtis
Length: medium (10,359 words)
Warnings: none
Author on LJ:
Summary: Chris comes to a gradual realisation.
Review:
The New Pros (for those that don't know) was an attempt to update The Professionals in the late 1990s. It lasted just one UK season, and is probably best remembered as one of Lexa Doig's first headlining opportunities. None the less it generated a small but enthusiastic fanfic community, in part because the series writers clearly knew about Pros fandom and left lots of hooks dangling for fanfic writers.
As you might guess from the summary, this is a first time story. It's also a songfic, winding the evocative and romantic Blue Moon through the narrative. Alyse doesn't just drop the lyrics into the text though; the song is always present in the background of every scene, affecting or reflecting the mood of the characters as it plays.
The story effectively takes place in the gaps between episodes, allowing us to see little snippets of Chris and Sam in their downtime. It's a wonderful slow build as they discover more about each other and how well they fit together as partners.
A long time ago when I first read this story, I told Alyse that it wasn't often I felt privileged to have read a story, but this was one of them. All these years later, it still is.
