Summary: When Clint is a boy he learns to keep out of sight, how to read situations, and how to put others before himself. When Clint is a young man, he gets shot by Agent Phil Coulson, and he learns to put those skills to use.

Clint's formative years, his work with Trickshot, and his long history with SHIELD. The Avengers will be a thing, but their coming together diverges from the movie canon.

Review: This is a superlong and detailed characters study of Clint Barton. It follows him from his boyhood all the way until he joins the Avengers.

What makes this fic so interesting is that it's told in an expanded version of the short story form. Kind of like a piece of origami. Each of the short bits of time in Clint's life, show a bit more about him, and through all of them you get a full picture of who he is.

This is one of my favorite styles of writing and one of the hardest to get right. Because it's easy to make the jumps between scenes to sharp and jarring. Something that never happens in Watch and Learn. Even when weeks or months slip by between the scenes, TamrynEradani always manages to weave you into the story so that you know exactly where and when you are.
