Review:
After the end of the series, Ray heads back to Chicago when his leave is up with the Quest still incomplete. But every year when he’s accumulated enough leave to make it worth-while, Ray heads back to Canada and he and Fraser continue from where they’ve left off. Ten years into this cycle, a wrench is thrown into the works when Diefenbaker dies. This is where our story begins.
This is really just a great heaping of fluff with a nice voyage to fill it out. I’ve always been fond of vacation fic, and this story is more fun than most considering this is a journey the boys might logically have taken. The author seems to have thoroughly researched the history of the area.
Along with the voyage, we have the story of Fraser dealing with the loss of Dief. Ray is there supporting him the whole way. Because of this support and the strong friendship the two men have maintained over more than a decade, the relationship feels quite natural.
This could use a bit of an edit. There are a few grammatical errors and occasionally, a slightly confused POV. All in all, though, this is a quick read, sure to leave you with a smile on your face.
