Review:
In the aftermath of the end of the series, Giles dies in a burglary gone wrong. Xander doesn’t handle it well.

I’m a sucker for dark Wesley, and this is him at his finest. It’s interesting seeing the whole series from Xander’s perspective, casting Wesley in a protective light, with only vague hints of manipulation shining through. One of the most intriguing elements to this story is the way Xander’s interaction with Wesley causes Xander to grow as a human being, while leaving the events of season five ‘Angel’ virtually unchanged. It’s also intriguing how many hints there are of each of Xander’s other relationships in his relationship with Wesley.

This is truly dark fic, and although it’s lacking any kind of violence, it’s almost darker because of it. I love how the ending almost comes full-circle. This is definitely an emotional fic, with a tear-jerker ending.
