Review: This story starts when anthropologist Heero Yuy sets out to discover the meaning of grief. His final stop on the way to discovering the meaning of grief is the Peacecraft Memorial Hospital, where he meets Dr. Duo Maxwell who works in the children's ward with many terminally ill patients.

This is more of a character study piece than a plot driven story. Heero is the POV character but Duo is the one who's being studied. His interaction with his patients as well as his reaction to loss helps Heero to come to terms with his own inability to grieve and to find a use for the study he's spent most of his adult life.

The OC's are well rendered and heartbreakingly memorable, and while the prose style is a little clunkier than I usually prefer it fits well with the person Heero is portrayed to be in this thought provoking and memorable story.
