Review:
To say that this story is absolutely massive is something of understatement, likewise is it an understatement to say that, no matter how long it takes to read it, it's well worth the time and effort. Beginning in Luke's pre-adolescent years, wherein Owen and Beru Lars are murdered by a mysterious stranger, the Force Bond series re-writes the circumstances in which Vader and Luke learn that they are father and son and begins their journey to learning what it's truly like to be a family.

Anyone whose delved into the Star Wars fandom knows that there are a plethora of father/son stories, many of them excellent. This story is no exception. The fact that characterization, Vader's especially, isn't sacrificed but is slowly (and believably) transformed from Sith Lord (he doesn't suddenly stop being Sith; he still commits horrendous acts, even with his son in his care) into, well, a Sith Lord with a son he tries his best to shelter and love is one of the things that make this series stand out for me.

Even with their relationship in the foreground, there is plenty of adventure, action, and mystery involved in this massive series. I wouldn't, however, suggest reading this all in one go unless you have a couple of days set aside to just enjoy.

Force Bond 1: Orphan
Force Bond 2: Threat
A Force Bond Christmas
Force Bond: Rain
Force Bond: Interactive Media
Force Bond: Dentist
Force Bond: Social Trials
Force Bond: Summer Accidents
Force Bond: Empire Day
Force Bond: Licensed
Force Bond: Family
Force Bond: Imperial Pride
Force Bond 3: Son
Force Bond 4: Jedi

Without trying to spoil it too much, it ends much the same way as the original trilogy did. There's hope, redemption, and happiness. :)

I don't suppose you know if this author has this story in a single file somewhere? it sounds really good and I'd love to add it to my ebook reader.

Sadly, not that I've found. I ended up just using the fan fiction downloader for each part, which is a pain, but at least I was able to get it on my reader.

Gah! I just finished this series and, while it was fabulous, this rec totally needs warnings! Lots of warnings! *sniffle*
