Author's Summary: A J2 movie AU based on 'Notting Hill', featuring misunderstandings, secrets, lies, twists, turns, comic books, Japanese-Ethiopian fusion cuisine, a lesbian wedding, several fabulous movies that really should exist, heartache, tequila, some exceptionally awful blind dates, hot boy-on-boy sex, and true love.
Review:
Comic bookstore geek Jared meets movie star Jensen. What will it take him to convince Jensen, one, he’s really not a freak (read: homicidal stalker), and two, he’s serious about having a real relationship.
Since I’ve never see the original Notting Hill movie, I can’t vouch for the authenticity of this J2 AU compared the movie plot, but what I can promise is a great story with interesting (though slightly larger-than-life) characters and an engaging plot. Like so many other SPN RPS stories, Chad reprises his role as “the-creepy-best-friend-who-does-really-dumb-things-sometimes”. Jared’s character is adorable and cute, but unfortunately, not immune to making bad decisions when it comes to relationships. Personally, I thought Jensen’s character could have been flushed out more and the ending was a little too abrupt, but these two things didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story in general.
The verdict: a traditional romantic comedy with all the twists, turns, and a happy ending that is guaranteed warm your heart.
