Title: Rebellion (And Suffering The Consequences)
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Draco Malfoy/James Sirius Potter
Categories: angst, character study
Length: long (~21,000)
Warnings: angst, smex, cross-gen, infidelity, dubious ending
Author on LJ:

Author's Summary: James Potter should be used to having his world turned upside down by now; it's been happening pretty regularly since he was fifteen, but Draco Malfoy redefines the phrase, along with everything else in James's life.
Review:
James Potter sometimes wonders how exactly he has become the kind of person he detests, getting into the exact same kind of situation that led him to work for Draco Malfoy in the first place.
I finished this story feeling shocked. The a wonderful way! I don't know what I had expected, especially after reading the author's other story Getting There, but most definitely not this. As angsty as the story is, and I admit I was at least a little heartbroken, I still wouldn't call it "dark" because everything in it is...absolutely beautiful. James' growth professionally and as a person was exceptionally well done, and I'm very interested in seeing a sequel that would detail how much of James' adult personality was shaped by his relationship with Draco. (*I noticed one little inconsistency in the story, but if you don't find it, well, it's not going to affect your enjoyment of the story.*)
Leashy Bebes crafts some of the best characterizations of the next-gen characters. Even if you are not a Harry Potter fan, it'd be worth it to browse some of her stories. Highly recommended.
