Review:
After the events of Serenity, Jayne is confronted by River. River has read in his mind a want to be dominated and she won’t let it rest until he’s taken in hand. Jayne does the only thing he can think of; he runs away.

Generally speaking, I prefer Firefly stories to be set in the pre-Serenity heyday with Wash and Book still alive and well. This story won me over, though. The plot is done in such a way that it brings out the angst without sacrificing the humor. Writers often have trouble keeping Jayne in character, especially if they want to make him sympathetic. This story provided just enough back-story to make you begin to understand his motivations.

BDSM is a difficult plot-device to use because it can often feel forced, but in this circumstance, the author used it as a natural conclusion to very possible plot. The idea of River as the aggressor is an interesting one. I love that the author doesn’t suddenly transform her into a completely stable individual, but rather shows how Jayne’s logic compliments River’s.

link issues?
Not sure why, but your story link comes up as page not found. However, when I go through LitGal's site, I can get there no problem.

Just letting you know in case someone else is having woes as well.

Thanks for the rec, however. Looks like I've got some good reading for the weekend. Cheers!
