RR -- Our Readers Are REALLY Our Reccers

  • Apr. 27th, 2009 at 8:50 AM

EDIT: This round of reccing is now closed.  We had a great response, though, so expect to see more posts like these in the future.  Thanks!

OMG, we've hit 600 readers! YAY!!!
*runs and jumps and is otherwise utterly embarrassing*

I'm especially excited, because we have something *really* cool planned today.  Some backstory: we have at least one reader who absolutely adores a certain (super-epic) fic.  She's recced it to me a couple of times and we've even gotten Mei into the mix and I can honestly say that the story is very well-written and plotted.  Unfortunately it doesn't hit any of my kinks and it does hit one of Mei's squicks, so basically we have this excellent story that lots of people might like, but no one to rec it.

Which is where ya'll come in.

Do you have a story that simply *must* be read?  What about a favorite story in a fandom we just don't rec?  Maybe a fic that you've read a hundred times and can't imagine why it hasn't been recced here before?  If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then this is the RR for you.  Recs posted here (and which follow the posting guidelines below) will be posted to the comm itself next week.  That's right -- our readers REALLY will be our reccers and we're eager to see what you want to share.

Don't hit the comment button just yet!  Epic Recs has some strict posting guidelines that must be followed (we consider ER's consistent quality to be one of the main selling points of the comm) -- any comments that ignore any of the following rules will be disqualified.

Special rules/guidelines just for this RR:
-Recs will be posted the week of May 4-May 10.  I'll do the actual posting and will credit the reader who wrote the rec.
-One rec per reader.
-Stories that have already been recced at ER may not be recced again.
-Stories must be complete and publicly available.
-
Check your grammar and spelling.  I don't mind fixing a typo or two, but I don't feel comfortable rewriting someone's rec.
-You may not rec your own fic or fic written for you.  (Personally, I try not to even rec fic written by friends -- it's too hard to be unbiased.)
-A maximum of 14 recs will be posted (if we have lots more then you'll likely see us doing this again in the future).  If more than 14 recs are already posted, you should still post.  It's possible that one or more of the previous recs will be disqualified.
-To rec a story, copy and paste the following into the comment box and fill it out completely.  Every space must be filled in.  If the author doesn't have an LJ or website, or the story has no warnings, you should use n/a.
