Review:
When Jack and Daniel become stranded on an unknown world, they struggle to survive the harsh environment and the crushing confines of a Viking society corrupted by the dead goa'uld, Nirrti. To add to the horrible struggle that lay ahead of them, Jack has been poisoned and Daniel must find a way to exist and prosper within the remnants of Nirrti's destructive laws in order to preserve his lover's life, and to get them to a possible gate home.
Jack's Viking Sky is one of the better known epically long dark-themed stories in the Stargate SG-1 fandom and rightfully so. It's a harsh but excellent read, giving us a real glimpse into how far the characters would be willing to go in order to not only survive, which is a monumental task all unto itself, but to protect the one they love, even if it means it'll change them on a fundamental level. Not only that but I feel compelled to comment on the fact that the author does a wonderful job of weaving a story, even one that spans over several 'books', and does it in a way that makes us understand that the culture-shock and struggle that Jack and Daniel face in order to survive.
