Review:

In this ATF AU, Vin and Ezra, while at an exceedingly boring conference, get the chance to get closer. Admittedly, there’s not much plot to it besides that – it is, however, a wonderful, sweet, and funny get-together story with just a touch of angst for piquancy. A nice, light treat. Sucked me right in once I discovered that Limlaith had inserted graphics into the story to show the notes passed back and forth rather than just describing them. The sketch of Josiah is in and of itself worth trying the story.

And Yet So Far is told from Vin’s POV. I admit the part of me that is fond of Vin’s ungrammatical drawl was a bit saddened to see Limlaith do away with it. However, her rationale that a modern Vin, regardless of his history, would not speak thus does make sense. Instead, her Vin narrates with a plainspoken, honest voice that feels every bit as true to his nature as the more ungrammatical version. The writing is clean and direct without sacrificing expressiveness, and it is lovely to come to the understanding with the characters rather than reading through soppy declarations.
