Review:
Hermione gets the great idea of creating a potion that will allow her and Ron to share their power with Harry. Until, of course, Severus interrupts the brewing process and inadvertently finds himself bonded to Harry instead.
My favorite part of this fic has to be the fact that there is no sexual component to the bond between Severus and Harry (which, when you really think about it, makes a lot more sense than a penetration requirement, which has always bugged me about bonding!fic in every fandom -- what if the bond occured between two women? Or with a heterosexual couple?). In fact, all the bond really does in the beginning is prevent Harry and Severus from getting too pissed off at each other. Amazing what a lack of rage can do for a relationship.
Meri usually has a tendency to both show and tell in her fic, but she's reined that in for Sanguis-Vinculum. As a result, the story has a faster pace, better flow, and a tighter overall feel, all of which combine to create a wonderful read. Couple that with an interesting take on a popular cliche, great characterization, especially of the secondary characters, and some very perceptive thoughts on Harry and you have a great story to fill an afternoon and long into the evening.
