Spike is fascinated by the human monster he discovers in Dexter Morgan.

This fic is everything a dark fic should be: deep, dark, and disturbing. There's no lightness, no fluffiness, and that's what makes it so delightfully chilling. Written from Dexter's perspective, dark passenger and all, this story focuses on the first meeting between Spike and Dexter in all its gory and sinister intensity.

Lit-gal doesn't hesitate to explore the fact that both Spike and Dexter are, at their center, one and the same: monstrous predators who are soulless and uncaring, but strangely loyal to a code of their own making. Though not a 'happy' story in the sense that its a barrel of laughs and sunshine, it still manages to be absolutely riveting. If you're a fan of either one of these characters, this is a story that is definitely worth checking out, especially if you want to read a happily-ever-after for monsters.
