Whee! This story is a total hoot. Told entirely in telegrams (Ezra) and letters (JD), you get just enough of the story to laugh hysterically at the misadventures of Ezra and JD (and eventually Buck... and Nathan... and Josiah... and Vin) as they attempt to survive train robbers, bank robbers, overzealous jail guards, and (most terrifying of all) Temperance Ladies. Topeka may never recover.
