In the midst of a knock-down, drag-out fight (heh), Harry and Snape find a baby. In a trash can. So of course they do the logical thing and take it home like a stray kitten.

This is one of my absolute favorite post-war Snape characterizations: to Snape's utter horror (and despite his best efforts), everyone adores him. After all, he's a war hero! Decorated, even! With a charmingly eccentric temper! It really is rather awesome. Then you have Harry, who is unhappily single and who really, really wants to be friends with Snape if Snape would just stop being such a git about it all. Mix in a baby and a lot of humor and you have one of the cutest, funniest fics in the Harry Potter fandom.
