(what? I'm here for the recs, too.)

What do you like most about epic_recs?

Length information on every single rec.

I lie the long stories the best - the epic part of epic recs, the length info. And the variety is wonderful as well.

I would really appreciate the addition of setting in canon timeline for fics. I do not like spoilers in the extreme, and I will not read a fic if there's any chance it might spoil something for me.

To give you an example: I read licensed manga only, but many people are literally years ahead of me in reading canon due to available scanlations online, and they often write fic in that future (for me) setting. This makes me very cautious about reading fic from relevant fandoms, and if they do not have a timeline specification, I will not read it.

If you could add a canon setting note, I would be very grateful!! I myself take care to include this information on my own fic recs site, to help others avoid unwelcome spoilers. ^^V

To be honest, there's many times when I have absolutely no idea where in a show's timeline a story takes place (especially in the fandoms for which I've never read canon, which includes nearly all manga fandoms I read/rec in) so while I will be happy to pass this request on, I can't promise we'll actually be able to implement it in all instances. But we'll certainly look into it!

I'm actually a big fan of finding out whether the ending to a fic is happy/unhappy/somewhere in between, but I realise that few people appreciate this. I know I'd appreciate it but I can live without it.

In regards to the tagging and memories, my only problems with your system has less to do with you and more with livejournal's system. I appreciate the delicious tags and utilize them more often when looking for fic.

To be honest, if I can't tell whether the ending will be happy from the rec, I usually scroll to the end and verify that the ending isn't unhappy before I download the fic (this has saved me from a couple of major character death fics:)

If it helps, I can absolutely, 100% guarantee that every single fic I rec will have a happy ending.

Yep scrolling's basically what I do. Also, YAY for happy endings and epic_recs!

What feature would you like to see added to our tagging system? (Note: LJ doesn't allow enough tags for an 'author' category to be feasible.)

I'd like to see a tag or something to warn when there's a caveat to the rec ('the first half is super slow', 'hinky representation of women', etc.)
That, and/or a tag for reccers' favorites :)

Thanks for these! I'll definitely add these two to the pot.

This isn't about this poll, but rather about the other one with reader interests such as slash, gen, etc. Crossovers weren't on the list of genres. It would be so great to get more recs for them if possible, even though I know it's hard to find longish good ones.

Thanks so much for the fab comm. I've found some of my favorite fics ever because of this place. :)

I know that a number of the mods definitely would like to see more crossover fics as well (including me!). Thanks for your feedback!
