I'd like to thank Jane for giving me this opportunity to convert more people to the wonderful fandom of HP. I was going to start off with some older fics (don't worry, those will come in the future), but hey, it's the holidays, so why don't we start with a good Smutmas story.

While the last book of HP was kind of meh for me, I'm quite fond of the epilogue in a strange way. While it's somewhat weird/stupid/WTF to have everyone married with kids nineteen years later, it is interesting to see how a writer overcomes this obstacle and brings our boys/men together. Circa or post-epilogue fics also gives us glimpse of what our favourite HP characters might be like as adults; one can only deal with hormonally imbalanced teenagers for so long. As people tend to write what they are familiar with, these fics tend to be written by older authors (with more life experiences), and hence the fics tend to be of better quality.

In this particular fic, Draco Malfoy, heir to the former Malfoy fortune, works as a prostitute to keep himself and his family in the lifestyle to which they've accustomed to. He gets a new client. Guess who? Harry doesn't find out about Draco's identity (which is hidden under a glamour) at first. However, as the reader, you know the impending doom is coming. Fortunately, everything works out in the end and they live happily ever after (sort of). This is not a particularly new plot-device nor would I call this a spectacular story (that title is reserved for stories like Written by the Victors), but the author's crisp writing style (written from the snarky yet lonely & insecure POV of Draco) and the fabulous cast of supporting & original characters make this story a very enjoyable read for the holiday season. Best consumed on a cold winter's night with a cup of hot chocolate.
