Review:
Sylar, Luke and Claire isn't an unheard of combination of characters, but usually it's one that's written with a distinct Sylar/Claire bent, Luke being the wistful, never quite accepted hanger-on. One of the reasons why I love this fic is that each of the characters is given equal attention, and the relationships between each of them is fleshed out. In particular, I really enjoyed the interaction between Luke and Claire (characters who've never met in canon). The banter is enjoyable and realistic, age appropriate given that they're two moody teens cooped up in a car together and with just the right amount tension to both keep things gen and leave readers who want to see more with something to think about.

This fic covers a lot of ground and doesn't gloss over the fact that these three are characters who by rights should all want to kill each other. It manages to present a set of events wherein it becomes not only practical for Sylar and Claire to work together, but a friendship starts to form, without once white-washing their acrimonious past. Luke comes into his own, making his own decisions while still retaining his desire to please and be accepted.

My only caveat is that the style, which is very pared down, can be at times a little confusing, and not to everyone's taste. For me, though, the distinctive style was one of the most enjoyable parts - it takes what could be just a bog-standard roadtrip fic and makes it something unique.
