Title: Seeing the Light, and its sequel/companion fic Embracing the Shadows
Fandom: Weiss Kreuz
Pairing: Yohji/Ken in StL; Schuldig/Crawford --> Schuldig/Ran/Crawford, Omi/Nagi implied in EtS
Categories: Action, drama, romance, angst, and some virgin; StL could be considered "fluffy"
Length: EPIC [~40,000 for Seeing the Light, and at least ~120,000 for Embracing the Shadows]
Warnings: non-con, dub-con, violence, psychos

Review: "Ken wants Aya, but Aya doesn't seem interested . . . until Yohji makes a move." In the sequel, "why Aya was such a butthead [in Seeing the Light]."
The author's summaries make these fics sound a lot more harmless than they are. I've tried to explain this fandom before, with little luck, but it should be clear by now that quite a few characters are unhinged murderers. The "good" guys are assassins! And in these stories, romance figures prominently... as do assassinations and mind-games. These are not fics for those who aren't familiar with Weiss Kreuz, or willing to wing it.
IMPORTANT: Embracing the Shadows may be the *only* fic that I would ever willingly re-read that, plot-wise, rests on two rapists and their victim becoming long-term lovers. I don't like those types of stories, or the sections of particular fandoms in which that's popular (I'm looking at you, Muraki fans). What can I say, other than Aoe is ludicrously talented and made it work? She managed to get all three characters to be sympathetic, and to actually look like they were in love by the end. The victim is of clearer mind and more whole personality by the end of the story, and the reader knows that he isn't being coerced or pushed into codependency. It helps that some of the characters are telepathic, too. Even if you just can't believe in the romance from this summary, I urge you to give it a chance. It starts out just as squicky as it should, and moves slowly to the point that I could accept it. If you can't even touch a rape-fic, though, stick to the first story; it has humorous miscommunication and a happy ending.
