Review:
To Have Outlived the Night is a drama, but there should be a genre called Stiles-being-Stiles so you're not surprised when he names different factions of hunters after Girl Scout cookies and makes "Pretty Woman" a verb to describe the first time Derek makes a pass at him. Stillane gets the Stiles balance just right, with plenty of oddball goodness to keep me happy, but never so much that the pacing drags.

The story opens with Derek trapped and hunters already on the way, and there are death threats and rescues that make this a great ride, but at the same time the relationship between Derek and Stiles moves believably from hostile to understanding to romantic as they lean on one another to survive. I love the tentative ways they try to offer comfort to one another. I also thought stillane did a terrific job of handling both Stiles and Derek's relationship with Sheriff Stilinski.
