Summary:
A Beauty and the Beast AU.

A large, shaggy head appeared in the gateway, followed by - by a huge, skulking mass of fur, fangs bared and glinting deadly in the pale sunlight, claws fanning out like daggers from underneath its fur. Cook let out a yelp, and tripped in his haste to back away. He went sprawling into the snow.

"Um," the - the Beast said, voice a low rumble. "That's right! Run away, you, um, bad - bad human!"

Review:
Cook, while traveling to deliver some books for a friend, ends up trapped by magic in a castle with a not-so-vicious Beast. Fortunately, there's a large library to research their magical dilemma and the Beast is a pretty nice companion.

I'm a sucker for fairytale fusions, and this one is particularly fun, mostly for Archie's very in-character dialog as the Beast (see above), or "I'm -- I'm right out of your, um, your worst nightmares! I - I'm terrifying! Rawr!" These passages had me giggling.

It's a sweet, if too short, take on the classic fairytale with Cook and Archie as the main characters.
